Original gloss black gilt dial with faceted baton indices and dauphine hands. These gloss black dials are rarely found in the condition and are highly sought-after by collectors. These dials are referred to as “Pie Pan” dials due to the sloping edge of the dial. The dial is signed “Swiss” which is correct for this period. The dial has not been touched and remains in excellent original condition.

Reference 1603 in stainless steel with early Mk1 faceted hour marker bezel. The serial number in-between the lugs corresponds with the original Rolex guarantee paperwork and chronometer certificate (as well as movement number) dating the watch to 1961. This reference features a plexiglass crystal with “Cyclops” magnifying the date display and a Rolex screw down crown. The case & bracelet are in excellent condition having been professionally polished during service.
