Original Mark 3 matte black dial
Original matte black dial with luminous markers & Mercedes hands. This is known as the Mark 3 dial type and is correct for the 4.0 million serial number. The dial is signed “Swiss-T<25” referring to the original tritium luminous used on the dial which show a nice patina. The dial has not been touched and remains in excellent original condition.
36mm steel case with smooth bezel
The Explorer reference 1016 in stainless steel with smooth bezel. The 4.0 serial number in-between the lugs denotes the year of production to 1975 and corresponds with the original guarantee paperwork. This reference features a plexiglass crystal and Rolex Twinlock screw down crown. The case and bracelet remains unpolished and in excellent condition with some light scratches.
