Original black dial with baton indices
Original black dial with baton indices. These early Mk1 dials feature the Oysterquartz text in a lower position (normally where the SCOC text is printed) and very sought-after in black. The dial is signed “T Swiss T” referring to the tritium luminous on the dial which shows a nice patina. The dial has not been touched and remains in excellent original condition with some small signs of age.

The reference 17000 in stainless steel with smooth bezel. The 5.7 million serial number denotes the year of production to 1978 and is the first version of the Oysterquartz model that spanned over 2 decades. This reference features a sapphire crystal with a “Cyclops” magnifying the date display and Rolex Oyster Twinlock crown. The case & bracelet remain unpolished and with light scratches.
