Original matte black dial with luminous markers & Mercedes hands. The dial is signed  “Swiss-T<25” referring to the original tritium luminous used on the dial. The tritium on these late 1016s tend to remain fairly white compared to the 1970s models. The dial has not been touched by us and remains in excellent original condition.

The Explorer reference 1016 in stainless steel with smooth bezel. The R serial number in-between the lugs denotes to the year of production to 1988. This is right at the end of the production timeline for this reference. The case has been professionally polished by our watchmakers giving the watch a stunning aesthetic. It features a domed plexiglass crystal and an original Rolex Twinlock screw down crown.
