Original matte black dial with luminous markers & Mercedes hands. This dial is referred to as a “Double Red” or DRSD with two lines of red script on the dial. This version is the Mark IV and correct for this serial 5.2 million serial range. The dial is signed “Swiss-T<25” referring to the original tritium luminous used on the dial which is showing a nice patina. The hands also appear to be tritium and show a nice patina. The dial has not been touched and remains in excellent original condition.
Sea-Dweller reference 1665 in stainless steel. The 5.2 million serial number in-between the lugs denotes the year of production to 1977/78 and corresponds with the various Rolex service paperwork. This is the last batch of DRSD’s produced by Rolex and features the “rounded” Rolex case back with two coronets and the serial number engraved on the inside back. This reference features a domed plexiglass crystal & helium escape value. The crown is an original Rolex Triplock screw down crown. We have not had the watch polished however it has been polished by Rolex in the past. The Rolex engraving on the case back is slightly faint due to wear. The rotating bezel with 60 minute insert appears to be a Rolex service replacement.
