Find me one like thisOriginal grey sigma dial with gold baton indices & hands. It is known as a sigma dial due to the small Greek letters either side of the “T Swiss T” indicating the use of gold for the indices. These sigma dials were produced for a short period during the early to mid 70s and have now become highly sought-after. Also referred to as “pie pan” dials due to the slope towards the edge of the dial. This detail is why the four digit Datejust references are much admired amongst collectors. The dial is marked “T Swiss T” referring to the original tritium luminous used on the dial. The dial has not been touched by us and remains in excellent original condition.
Ref. 1601 “two tone” with stainless steel case and solid yellow gold fluted bezel. The 3.2 million serial number in-between the lugs denotes to the year of production to 1973 and has the correct case back stamped with the ref. 1601. This reference also indicates that the case is fitted with a plexiglass crystal with a “Cyclops” magnifying the date display. The case & bracelet have been professionally polished by us giving the watch a stunning aesthetic. The yellow gold bezel has been sympathetically polished by hand so that it retains the original fluted edges. This is one of the reasons why our watches are presented in the highest quality in terms of condition. The crown is an original gold Rolex Oyster Twinlock screw down crown.
Two tone steel & solid gold Rolex Oyster bracelet. It has the reference 7836 which refers to the “folded” links, and correct steel 258 end links. Bracelets can be resized to fit on request.
