Find me one like thisOriginal silver dial with gold baton indices. This dial features an extremely rare gold Khanjar crest applied to the dial by Asprey. This watch was commissioned by the late Sultan Qaboos bid Said of Oman via Apsrey. These dials are earliest type of Khanjar “Logo” dials made with less than 5 pieces known. The dial is correctly signed “T Swiss T” referring to the original tritium luminous. The dial has not been touched and remains in excellent original condition. Reference 1803 in 18k solid yellow gold with fluted bezel. The 2.3 million serial number in-between the lugs denotes to the year of production to 1970/71. This reference features a plexiglass crystal with a “Cyclops” magnifying the date display. The case and bracelet remain unpolished and are in excellent condition.
Original 18k solid yellow gold Rolex President bracelet with concealed clasp. The bracelet is dated 1971 and has London import marks. Bracelets can be resized on request.
Provenance
This watch was given to Sir William Henry Luce, former Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Aden (just west of Oman) from 1956-60 and thence by descent to his son The Lord Luce, an MP and cabinet minister between 1971 and 1992 and Lord Chamberlain to the Queen.
Another example can be found in the Pucci Papleo Day-Date book where it is described as the Day-Date “Sheikh” and confirms the Khanjar “Nugget” was made by Asprey.
