Find me one like thisOriginal silver dial with baton indices. These dials are referred to as “pie pan” dials due to the sloping edge of the dial. This detail is one of the reasons why these four digit Datejust references are much admired amongst collectors. The dial is signed “T Swiss T” referring to the original tritium luminous which is showing a nice patina. The dial has not been touched and remains in excellent original condition.
The reference 1603 in stainless steel with milled bezel. The 1.5 million serial number in-between the lugs corresponds to the original guarantee booklet and chronometer certificate dating the watch to 1967. The movement number also corresponds with the chronometer certificate. This reference features a plexiglass crystal with “Cyclops” magnifying the date display and a Rolex Twinlock screw down crown. The case & bracelet have been professionally polished giving the watch a stunning aesthetic.
